Coco Chanel Exhibition

If you’re a fan of Chanel, or someone who’s interested in fashion or photography then I suggest you go to Claremont Quarter to see the Coco Chanel photographic exhibition by Douglas Kirkland.
It’s upstairs in Claremont Quarter and runs from Friday 13 March to Sunday 12 April 2020.

The exhibition captures the three weeks that celebrity photographer Douglas Kirkland spent with Coco in Paris, way back in 1962. At the time Kirkland was 27 and Coco was 79. It was during the time that the designs of Chanel moved into the White House, in the sense that they were worn by then fashion icon – America’s first lady, Jacqueline Kennedy.

It’s definitely worth a look and a nice way to spend sometime in air-conditioned comfort if you’re looking to escape the heat.

The exhibition left me feeling inspired and happy and ready to go back to my little studio and work on new sandal designs for the summer of 2020. Check out my current sandal range on www.ankalia.com
Lots of love,
