Quiet Fashion

Lately on Instagram I’ve been hearing the term “quiet fashion” bandied around a bit. You may ask, what is quiet fashion? Well, essentially, it’s a fashion movement that emphasises investment in high-quality, minimalist pieces that have timeless appeal.

It is against designer brands who produce bold logos and very loud, ostentatious patterns. I feel it’s not an easy aesthetic to pin down but one thing I am confident with is that “quiet luxury’ is a look that will be around forever and will stand the test of time.

A brand that I studied in Milan is Bottega Veneta and to me they certainly represent “quiet luxury.” Their colours are mostly neutral, and you never see a logo or anything loud or ostentatious.

As the designer and Creative Director of Ankalia, I certainly see my designs as “quiet fashion.” They are timeless, high quality and not ‘on-trend.’  They will all stand the test of time and never date. I hope you think so as well!
