Shopping on Napoleon Street, Cottesloe

Perth is one of my favourite cities in the world. In fact, it’s one of the most isolated cities in the world. I love Cottesloe and Napoleon Street Cottesloe is one of my favourite places to ‘hang out’. I feel so at home on Napoleon Street.

First of all, Cottesloe is about 12km’s from Perth CBD and if you are staying in Perth and want to play tourist you can catch a train from Perth station to Napoleon Street. It’s on the Fremantle line. Napoleon Street itself is only about 250 metres long but it has some beautiful and unique up-market boutiques. There are also some cute little alleyways that will lead you through to Station Street which is also good for shopping.
One of my daily essentials (in fact about 4 times a day) is coffee. When you step off the train make your first stop Van’s Café. Its’ one of my most favourite cafes in the whole world and is perfect for coffee, breakfast, lunch and dinner. There’s also outside dining which is great if you’ve just come from the beach or if you have your dog with you, which I often do.
After coffee at Van’s my first stop is Esola. It is one of the most divine jewellery boutiques I have ever been to. That’s really saying something because I’m not really a jewellery girl. Esola is a treasure trove of stunning pieces manufactured locally and sourced from all over the world. They have a stunning range of diamonds, pearls and precious coloured stones, as well as jewellery boxes. Many of my birthday and Christmas gifts have come from Esola.

Moving on from Esola another favourite that is unique to Perth is Boheme Luxe. This great boutique stocks a carefully selected array of high end women’s fashion with a Summer beachy vibe. Sisters Jasmine and Sascha have sourced fashion, swim and resort wear from as far away as Ecuador, India, Israel, Brazil, Italy and of course Australia. It’s the go-to store for stylish well-travelled women that love casual eclectic Summer fashion.

Another favourite is Flannel. They are famous for their bias-cut slip dresses made for every woman's body. To me they are the epitome of understated, deluxe elegance, made for the carefree luxe traveller.

You may also want to check out Picnic which is a local Perth label that was established by the Ahern family more than 30 years ago. They still design and produce a large proportion of their clothing in Perth to support local manufacturers.
On the home front, Beautiful Era Gifts is certainly a joy to visit. They stock homewares, kitchenware, soft furnishings, body and baby products. Some of their labels include Vera Wang and Miranda Kerr as well as crystal from Waterford, Bohemia and more.

Two great boutiques for children’s’ products are Little Leisure and Bebe.
At this point of your shopping expedition, if you need another coffee you might like to try Cimbalino. It’s another Perth icon that I love as well. From Cimbalino you can then walk through the adjacent arcade towards Station Street. Walking through you will find some tiny unique boutiques and also Two Birds One Stone which is great for denim and street wear.
Late afternoon, if it’s time for a champagne then head to Elba. They focus on serving the best champagne and local and international wines and great food. You can sit outside on the street front and people watch as well.

Finally, if you want a stunning experience of fine food shopping then walk around to Boatshed Market on Jarrad Street. I’ve had friends from all over the world visit me in Perth and when I take them to the Boatshed they are blown away by the high-quality produce and the food displays and food sampling. At the Boatshed, you can buy high quality fruit and vegetables, amazing cakes and desserts, ready-made salads and meals, fresh seafood and high-quality meats. Oh, and don’t forget they also have a beautiful display of fresh flowers. It’s high-end supermarket heaven!
