Inspirational Women – Em Carey (The Girl Who Fell from the Sky)
I find Em Carey to be a delightfully happy, upbeat, positive, motivated shiny Angel. At the age of 20 she set off to Europe on an adventure as most young Australians do when they either finish University or High School. It was June 2013 and only 5 days into her 3-month trip that Em went skydiving over the Swiss Alps. It was a dream of hers for as long as she could remember. It was on this skydiving adventure that something went horribly wrong and she literally ‘fell out of the sky.’ Her lifelong adventure (bucket list item) soon turned...
Inspirational Women – Camilla
Who doesn’t love a brightly coloured Camilla outfit on a beautiful Summer’s day or Winter’s day too. Camilla Franks founded her label Camilla 14 years ago and she’s a true inspiration with the business she’s built and the amazing designs she keeps coming up with. Image: Camilla Franks in one of her stunning designs alongside our Sienna Swarovski crystal sandals Camilla isn’t someone who studied fashion design. Early in her career she was a stage actress who created her own pieces to wear in between scenes and on stage. People in the fashion industry who saw her on stage asked...
Meghan Markle’s Honeymoon Fashion
Although Meghan and Harry haven’t had a honeymoon yet, I think after Prince Charles’ 70th birthday celebrations they’ll discretely slip away for a romantic honeymoon, as well as a secret visit to see Meghan’s Dad in Mexico. Here’s a few photos of Meghan looking very casual before she became a royal. I’ve teamed each look with my beautiful, comfortable, handmade flat leather sandals. Don’t Be Slack. Find a Rubbish Bin
Every day when I’m out and about I see rubbish lying in the street. I hate it! We live in a beautiful world and we should do our best to keep it as pristine as possible. Image: Bathing boxes at Brighton beach. Melbourne It baffles me that some people can’t wait to find a rubbish bin and just throw their rubbish away or leave it behind or shove it into a groove in a park bench. Aaaagh! If you can’t find a bin take your rubbish home with you or at least keep it until you do find a bin....
Inspirational Women – Gail Kelly
First of all, if you haven’t heard of Gail Kelly, well she was the first female CEO of Westpac and in 2010 she was listed by Forbes as the eight most powerful woman in the world. Wow! Funnily she was sandwiched between Lady Gaga at number seven and Beyoncé at number nine. At that time Hillary Clinton was number five. Recently I was lucky enough to attend a business leaders breakfast and Gail Kelly was the guest speaker. Yes, she was there to spruik her book – Live Lead Learn but wow what a great speaker she is. She kept...
Kindness
My favourite word is “kindness” and I’ve decided it will be one of my mantras for life. I believe that one of the healthiest habits we can adopt is kindness. Image: the ultimate act of kindness was when I was offered an Internship to train with a renowned Swarovski crystal sandal Artisan in Italy Right now, it’s cool to be kind and live in the “we” rather than the “I”. Image: Cheryl Botha Creative Director of Ankalia sandals at Subiaco Farmers Market with her little Pug friend There’s also scientific evidence to suggest cultivating kindness could almost be as important...
