Ankalia Sandals Australia - A Brief History

Ankalia began with my mid-life adventure. I now call it my midlife creative detour.

I quit my corporate job and went to study Fashion and Luxury Goods Managment at the European School of Ecoonomics in Milan as a mature aged student. After my studies,  quite by chance I was offered an Internship  and I worked for no pay with the famous Antonio Viva - a traditional “Papa” Sandal Artisan on the island of Capri.

The name Ankalia was chosen to reflect our brand ethos – summery, feminine, modern, chic, stylish and well-travelled. Ankalia also sounds a little bit like "Australia."

A timeless aesthetic is synonymous with the brand. From start to finish, from inspiration to final product, every sandal design is considered, well-constructed and long lasting for the Ankalia woman. Just like "Papa" taught me.  https://ankalia.com/

Ankalia has now been operational as an online business for over five years. We are based in Perth, Western Australia and we ship sandals worldwide. Every pair of sandals is still lovingly handcrafted by me with meticulous attention to detail.

I hope that Antonio my "Sandal Papa" is watching down on me from heaven and feeling proud that he trained me and that I am keeping his sandal dream alive.
