Hotel Principe Di Savoia in Milan

When I’m overseas I prefer to stay in local hotels and historical hotels to really get a feel for the city or country I am visiting. I really try to avoid staying in any of the big well known chain hotels.
In saying that, in Milan, I recommend the historical and traditional 5-star Hotel Principe Di Savoia.

There are liveried doormen to greet you on arrival. The entire hotel has a beautiful luxurious and historical feel to it. There is beautiful wood panelling, marble, hand painted walls, antique furniture and lots of historical art.

The Principe is part of the Dorchester Group of luxury hotels. The service is impeccable and although it is an historical hotel, it also has the modern day facilities that you would expect, such as a gym and pool.

It is also very well positioned and only about a 20-minute easy flat walk to a lot of the sites of Milan, such as the Duomo (Milan cathedral) and Quadrilatero d’Oro (the golden shopping rectangle). There is a tube station right outside the hotel and plenty of taxis as well. The hotel will also arrange a limousine service for you if that’s your preference.

Enjoy Milan! The shopping is amazing and it is small enough that it is very easy to get around mostly on foot.
Don’t forget to tell me about your shopping experiences in Milan too!
Lots of love,
