Kylie Minogue Costume Exhibition

Last Sunday I went to the Kylie on Stage exhibition at the WA Maritime Museum in Fremantle.
It’s a great place to spend a couple of hours if you love Kylie or if you’re just someone that likes pretty costumes and perhaps has an appreciation of the work that goes into designing and creating her amazing and extravagant stage outfits.
The exhibition is a wonderful celebration of Kylie’s costumes and the magical moments of her 25 years of concerts.
You’ll get to see a close-up of the work of international designers such as Dolce & Gabbana, John Galliano, Karl Lagerfeld and Jean Paul Gaultier, as well as local designers such as Peter Morrissey.
You'll also get to see a selection of designs, working drawings, photographs, and footage providing a rare glimpse into Kylie's ever-evolving stage persona and the creative backstage process.
Being a designer of Swarovski crystal leather sandals myself www.ankalia.com it was wonderful for me to see that many of Kylie’s costumes are embellished with Swarovski crystals, just like my sandal designs. Also, her costumes gave me inspiration for new sandal designs in the future. Here’s a look at a few of my latest designs. Stay tuned for new designs in the future and follow us on Instagram @ankaliadesigns to keep up to date with what’s happening at Ankalia.
I hope you go along and see the exhibition. It really is a visual delight and Kylie is certainly one of our Australian entertainment icons.
The exhibition itself is free but the WA Maritime Museum charges an entry fee. The exhibition runs from Saturday 16 February until Sunday 9 June 2019 and the opening hours are 9.30 – 5pm.
Lots of love,
Cheryl xx
