The Sebastian Hotel in Vail
Although Ankalia www.ankalia.com is all about Summer and the sandals I design and make, many people might be surprised to find out that I’m actually a snow skier. I call myself a “Summer girl” now but I actually taught snow skiing for 7 years (year-round) in my younger days.

This year I skied in Vail and it was so fantastic that I’m now calling myself “a born- again skier.” I absolutely loved it and I want to go back again.

Let me tell you about The Sebastian in Vail which is where 10 of us stayed. First of all, it’s Vail’s newest boutique hotel and the level of service and amenities has earned the property a membership to Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide.

Everything we desired was available at the highest possible standard. There were really helpful concierge services, several outdoor hot tubs and a pool, a day spay, a gym, as well as a beautiful bar and an amazing restaurant with fabulous food. There was also a library, beautiful lounge areas with open fireplaces, members après drinks every evening in the members private lounge and live entertainment every Thursday evening.
The décor in the hotel was chic high mountain style with beautiful crafted woodwork, tasteful art and beautiful fabrics and textures, along with several open fireplaces.

If you’re going to Vail for a ski holiday, I would recommend a stay at the Sebastian. I would definitely stay there again and again.
