WA Swim and Resort Series 2017

With our fantastic hot summers and laid back beachy lifestyle, it’s natural that WA designers have become leaders in the hugely growing resort wear market. Due to our wonderful climate WA is uniquely positioned to offer some of the best summer lifestyle fashion in the world.

Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan, Perth Fashion Festival Founder and Director along with Fashion Council WA launched the Swim & Resort Series 4 years ago. This year the 2017 series will be held 25-26 November.

Mariella’s vision is to make WA the capital of swim and resort wear, not just in Australia but globally – in much the same way that Europe is considered to be the luxury fashion capital of the world.

I agree with Mariella. I really think the relaxed beachy and outdoorsy lifestyle of Western Australia definitely positions us to be world leaders in summer resort wear and swimwear.

The resort wear market is currently worth more than $20 billion annually and is very lucrative. For me this fact is confirmed by the purchase of Seafolly in 2014 by LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy).

This year the Swim & Resort Series will feature Camilla, Manning Cartell and 8 local brands – Ambra Maddalena, Amore + Sorvete, House of Skye, Kirrikin Summer, Ocean Zone, Sei Bella Acqua Wear, Skye & Staghorn and Morrison.
