Australian Citizenship Ceremony Dress Standards

When I woke to the news this morning there was debate about dress standards for people becoming Australian Citizens on Australia Day.

I must say I agree with Prime Minister Scott Morrison that wearing a suit shows respect for the great honour of becoming an Australian citizen. It is a very momentous occasion and a very special day for many people, so we should all dress appropriately.

I believe in dressing for the occasion and showing respect by dressing-up for special occasions such as weddings, funerals and citizenship ceremonies.

For men that means a suit, tie and proper shoes at citizenship ceremonies. For women that means a conservative dress (not too short and not too much skin on show) and beautiful appropriate footwear.

Footwear for ladies, is where I can help out anyone attending an Australia Day function or a citizenship ceremony.

The sandals I make are in beautiful high-quality leather and if you are standing for a long time or walking on lawn or the beach, where you don’t want your heels to sink in, then our Ankalia Swarovski crystal sandals are perfect. You can choose a little 2cm heel or flats – so no sinking at all. The leather will be super comfy and not sweaty at all and the size offerings I make are 35-43.
I hope you love the options I have put together of pretty dresses with pretty sandals to wear to a citizenship ceremony if you are attending one.
Congratulations to everyone who is becoming an Australian Citizen this Australia Day. Welcome to our beautiful country and your new life here.
Lots of love,
Cheryl xx
