Los Angeles in a Day Bike Tour

For me and anyone that likes cycling or a good workout I recommend a bicycle trip if you’re playing tourist in Los Angeles.
I did the one-day trip with Bikes and Hikes and I loved it. It’s a 6+ hour cycle trip covering about 50 kilometres. I will stress though that it’s not for the faint hearted because there are lots of hills in LA. That’s why it’s called Beverly Hills and the Hollywood Hills. Right! If you’re a bit worried about the hills or your fitness level there’s an option to upgrade to an electric bike.
The tours operate everyday and departs from West Hollywood at 10am. I recommend you need to be comfortable on a bike and comfortable riding on the road with traffic.
Our guide was fantastic and had lots of interesting historical stories to tell, as well as stories about the homes we cycled past and the billionaires and celebrities that live in them.
Basically, we started in West Hollywood and cycled through a lot of beautiful residential areas all the way to Santa Monica and Venice beach. We had lunch at Venice beach, just a healthy wrap and a smoothie before cycling back to West Hollywood on a different route which was a bike track a lot of the way.
If I’m to mention the highlights of the tour they would be a walking tour of the gardens of Greystone Mansion, cycling through Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Westwood, Brentwood Village, Santa Monica beach, Venice beach, Muscle beach, the Venice canals, as well as more than 30 celebrities’ homes.
The LA in a Day bike tour includes a high-end hybrid bike with the option to upgrade to an electric bike for an extra charge, if you like. A reflective vest and bike helmet, is included. They also provide bottled water to keep you hydrated, as well as a few muesli bars to keep your energy levels up along the way.
The next time I visit LA I’ll do this bike tour again I loved it so much! Thank you Bikes and Hikes.
Lots of love,
Cheryl xx
