PLC Open Garden Day

Have you been to PLC Open Garden Day in Perth? If not, I absolutely recommend it. It’s held once a year in late October.
In conjunction with PLC (Presbyterian Ladies’ College) a small collection of Peppermint Grove’s most prestigious private properties open their gates to the public for a one day, once a year viewing of their beautiful gardens as they blossom in Spring.

In addition to the opportunity of viewing the beautiful gardens you can also peruse 45 local market stalls set-up along View Street, Ankalia being one of them. Some of the others of note are Beach Street Design, Jewellery by Maw, Stoeps, Suz Creations Cushions and the best Christmas cakes in Perth (aside from my Mum’s).

There’s also an impressive program of complimentary demonstrations and entertainment, such as floral paper art, spring inspired floral and table setting demonstrations, a local historian and musical performances by PLC ensembles including the PLC Pipe Band.
And of course, there’s good coffee and food available as well. The market is open from 10am to 2pm and The Stables Café opens from 9am.
Mark it in your diary as a permanent fixture for every October and for more details go to the PLC website.
