Top 5 Things to Do in Ibiza

Ibiza is a Spanish Island in the Mediterranean Sea. It’s 150 kilometres from Valencia and you can fly there directly from Valencia, Madrid and Barcelona, as well as many other cities within Europe.
Ibiza is well known as an uber cool place to visit. It has loads of nightlife and many European nightclubs have summer outposts there. In addition to the party and nightclub vibe it also has many small, quiet villages, yoga and health retreats and lots of beaches.
First of all, before I list the things to do in Ibiza, I recommend you hire a car or motorbike to get around, as Ibiza is 35 kilometres long and 20 kilometres wide. If you don’t want to drive there are taxis everywhere and also a very limited bus service.
My top 5 things to do are:
- A walking tour around Ibiza Old Town (often referred to as Eivissa) including the cathedral and the gentle uphill walk to the castle - Castell di Eivissa. There are lots of cute shops to browse through along the way and plenty of restaurants and cafes, all with a fun holiday vibe.
- A day at Benirras which is the beach famous for the drummers who go there on Sundays to “drum down the sunset.” You can hang out on the beach all day, the hippy market is also there and a few uber cool, beach boho restaurants with a great vibe.
- A catamaran trip to Formentera which is another island south of Ibiza.
- A half day visit to Santa Gertrudis De Fruitera is worth it. It’s a cute little town in the middle of the island and has some cute lifestyle and fashion stores, all with a boho beach vibe. Have a coffee at Bar Costa while you're there.
- In terms of beaches, well there are dozens of them. You might like to divide up your beach visits geographically and for example do the northern beaches one day, the east coast beaches one day and the southern beaches one day. There are loads of beaches to the west as well. I usually ask at the hotel desk, which beaches they recommend and the same with restaurants as well.
10 days or 2 weeks in Ibiza would be my suggested amount of time to visit.I hope you love Ibiza as much as I did. Happy travels.
Love,
Cheryl xx
